can buy their tickets for the game at Oakwell on Thursday TODAY, but, as a barnsley fan I have to wait until bloody Tuesday, when I can't get becuase, along with most people, I will be bloody working. I am going to have to rely on others to get my tickets for both legs. It seems nonsense to me that, with only 5 days to sell tickets, including the day of the game itself, that the club waste two of those days with the box office closed, one of them a weekend day when most people could have got to the ground. The thing about sorting out those who ticked the cup game box on season ticket renewal is B*ll*cks because 2 staff could sort out a thousand or so tickets in the back office, and the club could still be open for business. It is not a problem that these people's tickets may be sold becuase they will not be selling any season ticket holders seat to the non-season ticket holders anyway, whether they have posted them out or not. They have managed to print 6000 tickets and get them over to Huddersfield, presumably, given that Huddersfield have been selling home leg tickets as well, they could have done their ticket printing for us, allowing tickets for the away leg to be sold as well today. I just don't buy the fact that it is going to take them 2 days to sort out their plans and get ready for the queues. It is just incompetence Why is it also that Huddersfield fans can also buy over the phone and our fans cannot. If you don't live in the Barnsley area - tough. I find that such an appalling way to treat fans of the club. So, many people will be be giving up a half day at work to supply the club with their custom because they can't get their own house in order. Outrageous. The club buy a lot of good will with their season ticket pricing this week, and then immediately chuck it away again. The onyl consolation is that, if we do manage to beat Hudds, it surely can't be as bad for the Millenium stadium, given the number of tickets that would be available. can it....? /poo
Incompetence. simple enough.</p> Made no decent plans and can't be arsed to sort it.</p> Never mind the plebs can lose time at work and queue in the pissing rain for tickets if necessary.</p>
Since when has Barnsley fans been treated with respect, just going to have to grin an bare it as usual i'm afraid.
Annoying thing is If its a matter of printing tickets for specific opponents then why not just have "PLAYOFF SEMI FINAL" printed on them. they could have been done last week and on sale today. Afterall its only the home tickets they have to do.
I really can't see what all the fuss is about Are you saying that the club (if they don't start to sell the tickets until Tuesday) will not have enough time to sell everyone a ticket that wants one? If you live away from town, there was an option to have the tickets sent to you when you applied for your season ticket. The club will be concentrating on those tomorrow (Monday). That leaves the remainder of the week to sort out everone else. I'm playing devils advocate a bit here.
RE: I really can't see what all the fuss is about if you live away from town you have no chance of a away leg ticket
The point is that the club have WASTED two days one of which is today when people would have had plenty of time to go down. They just cant be arsed and have made no plans. Again BFC fans have to tolerate what is thrown at them.</p> Why are we attemting to sell 20,000 tickets in 3 days?</p> Why has the information from the club been so poor?</p> Why no teleĀ sales?</p> Why no sales on monday?</p> Its a farce.</p>
RE: I really can't see what all the fuss is about That's fair enough, but I haven't seen anything suggested on here that would really help. To be honest, I live in town and have a season ticket, but I am not particularly hopeful of getting a ticket for the away leg.
RE: The point is that the club have WASTED two days oh come off it we all enjoy it, why else we we keep turning up.
Agreed Also....because Huddersfield already knew they were in the playoffs they would have already had the tickets printed so could have got them to Oakwell this morning. Huddersfield were selling home leg tickets yesterday morning.
RE: Agreed the only thing hudds werent sure about until yesterday, was which leg they would be playing first.
Season ticket holders can claim their seat right up till kick off You can almost guarantee that the kick off will be delayed on Thursday because loads of season ticket holders who live/work away from Barnsley will be getting their tickets (and probably a load that do live in Barnsley and don't go down earlier for whatever reason)
But Huddersfield can't sell away tickets yet can they? Doesn't that mean that the Huddersfield public will have to go back to their box office and queue up again? At least under much maligned BFC arrangement, it is possible to get a home and away ticket from Tuesday onwards.
RE: Agreed Which didn't really matter, it was on their website that they didn't have dates for the home leg but you were able to buy a ticket if it didn't matter to you what the date was.
RE: But Huddersfield can't sell away tickets yet can they? Yes we can. Our home leg tickets went on sale yesterday, and the Oakwell tickets went on sale today. Our club are as bad as yours. Originally they said only fans with a ticket stub from the Swindon game would be able to get tickets today, and then season ticket holders tomorrow, then general sale on tuesday. It turns out thats complete bolloks, and fans haven't been asked for their Swindon stub, just for season tickets. So we sold 1,000 today and theres gonna be a mad rush tomorrow for the rest. Why do we do it?!
Yep the usual mad scramble and same again for one of us next week for final tickets! Good to read your comments yesterday....at the moment things are being friendly - long may it last!
RE: Yep the usual mad scramble Cheers, it just needs a dodgy ref and a few 50/50 decisions on Thursday night to get rid o'niceities, believe me. When we got to the Division 3 PlayOff Final in 2004, we were given 30,000 tickets, and with 8,500 season ticket holders, the club (in their wisdom) made it only one ticket per ST holder, meaning loads of people who wanted to sit near their non-ST holding mate couldn't. You'd think it would get easier with a bigger allocation, wouldn't you? As someone's just said on downatthemac (come and visit) - http://boards.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=910&p=16&forumid=6590&style=2 in this day and age, would it be so complicated to have an online booking system? Obviously would...
RE: I really can't see what all the fuss is about the guy earlier hit the nail on the head, they should be fookin selling them today and monday, stop defending them they are feckin useless!
That's exactly what Preston did Their play off tickets were on sale even B4 they knew that they were playing Leeds.
