I don't think LJ's brand of football is negative or boring, it is a good way to play but it's not the way to get out of this league. It works against better teams. The teams in league 1 don't want to keep the ball as they are not good enough and will make mistakes, it is all about being solid, aggressive and scoring from set pieces and player errors. That way of playing is not what LJ wants or what we want to see but it's a proven way of getting promotion out of this league, trying to break teams down who are defensively minded and don't play open football with only 1 small striker up front just won't work consistently. Saying that playing as we are could get us top 6 because we have got some quality players but we also have the players to change and go for it the other way. Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
Completely agree the teams that got promoted last season didn't play this way. All were more progressive and attacking the teams that ended up in the middle played this way. I do think we play the way LJ wants.
Good post. Sounds like LJ is sticking to his principles though and won't adapt or deviate from them. Looks like we only signed Michael Smith as a substitute or in case Winall gets injured.
