    From his wikipedia:

    2016–17 season[edit]

On 5 August, Mowatt was given the squad number 27 shirt for the 2016–17 season with Marcus Antonsson taking over the number 10 shirt previously held by Mowatt. It was at this time mowatt got the monk on and went down town to sup 15 pints and get a kebab, fully refreshed he went on a 3 day Fifa 16 bender until his fingers fell off. [34] On 9 January 2017, Mowatt scored his first goal of the season in Leeds' 2–1 FA Cup win against Cambridge United.[35]

On a serious note, why did he miss the season after he won player of the year? Did he get injured, and if so what happened? Seems to pick up lots of injuries.

PS looks as good a replacement for Conor as we can afford I think. Train him up like Conor, we could have a diamond there.

Description matches Conor of say 18 months ago. Excellent delivery from set pieces, box to box, eye for a pass and a goal, but a little frail and underperforming. Sounds like a job for Hecky!!

As we can afford? Yes we are skint we have only recieved over 15 million the past 2 windows.
Mowatt fits what we are trying to do here bring young players on and turn them into top players. He's only 21 we sign him on a 2 n half year deal ifs a win win if he turns to a top player we are due compo even if he won't sign a new deal when the time comes. He was leeds player of the season a few seasons ago. Monk brought in hernandez and roufe and he has been frozen out scince then. A south Yorkshire lad from donny I do believe so he may like the move closer to home.

True, but how much would a like-for-like, dominant Championship midfielder to replace Hourihane cost? 10 million? And then the wages... That's what I mean, as you allude to, Mowatt as a player who needs training back to form, but who has undoubted ability in this division, is about the best we could hope for.

True I know what you mean conor is impossible to replace like for like on our budget. Mowatt has championship experience and looks a good replacement conor wasn't the player he is when we first got him. We could go lower to leagues one and two to find a player to replace but could end up costing just as much if not more than mowatt.
