Re: agreed Sadly a game against Oldham on a freezing cold December night will only attract the hardcore fans.
well TBH I am not bothered if it is called off Obviously I am in S.Wales so cannot be there, but todays results have no adverse effect on our league position that much. we remain in 16th as we were this morning. If its off then it may give players more time to recover fitness. It will give us a game in hand over a few too. So if asked I am not totally bothered either way.
now thats a good idea... but how desperate do you think the club are to play tomorra not very... I will wager.
Re: now thats a good idea... but how desperate do you think the club are to play tomo If the club asked I'm sure people would do it for nothing, but unfortunately we now live in a world where if anyone were to injure themselves in the process (even though it's purely voluntary) the club would be liable for this. I know from my work that we can't accept volunteers for even the most innocuous of tasks, even stuff like painting, purely for this reason, even though the risks are about as low as they can be. I think the only way to get around it would be for a group of individuals to just do it without official approval from the club.
It's on Sheff Utd forum that they couldn't get helpers from the general public due to 'insurance issues' The worlds fooked
you hit a nail there H&S one of the most nonsensical things that has been given to us from the U.S. of A. ..... well their interpretation of all thing H&S... some of the litigation that has occurred over there is quite frankly ludicrous. Its now rife over here too. When I was in the R.A.F. I had to do COSHH assessments. (control of substances hazardous to health) You had to read the manufactures guide lines then assess what PPE or precautions should be taken or whatever was needed to use the stuffs safely. I remember "laughingly" one substance . The manufactures notes advised that it had a very strong de-fatting effect on the skin. To this end to prevent the de-fatting users should use a barrier cream, wear protective latex gloves, keep naked skin covered and eye protection was also advised.... that's the standard when De-fatting is suspected or known and the product/substance was SWARFEGA..... hand cleaning Gel. that's H&S in all its glory for you.
Re: you hit a nail there H&S LOL, I was once in a meeting to discuss a replacement solvent based paint that had been banned, and while talking about one possibility the boffin from the paint company mentioned that the solvent was a "de-fatting agent, quick as a flash one bloke shouted, great, get me two 45 gal drums for ar lasses arse.
Re: you hit a nail there H&S I hope its off (selfishly), cos its just another game i cant go to, im on nights. my ST has been a waste of money this year. only been to 5 home games and 2 of those i paid into for FA cup.
