    Matt Murray and the Chron? I honestly don't believe the guy is making this takeover story up, why would he? Like all of us on here he's an avid Barnsley supporter, so he's not trying to mess us all about!

    IMO, this consortium have made an offer for us but for whatever reason Cryne has turned it down. And rather than telling the media we have turned an offer down, they've just said there has been no offer for us.

    Actually the club didn't say that. They said that they had received no offers that met their stipulated criteria. Not that they have received no offers.

    It was very carefully worded that official statement.

    The club statement suggested that they get offers all the time, at best the Chron have heard a whisper about one of these and sensationalised it. The quotes published today sound like a total fabrication to me though. If I want to read fiction I'll go to WH Smiths and buy a Tom Clancy novel.

    I don't think there's hatred. It just isn't a credible story, as it is presented. The reports are badly written and have no substance or first hand reference. Anyone who has been following the Reds 15 years or more, has painful memories of the club changing hands. We seriously came close to losing the club and that still has a massive resonance for many of us.

    It's not a subject to be taken lightly, and there is nothing in this story worth distracting anyone from the fact we are bottom of the league and really must start winning matches. I get a bit offended that some tittle tattle about takeovers is taking precedent over that. Just the way I see things.

    Chron should be able to report what it sees fit.

    It isn't in anyone's pocket so why there's some teddys out of the cot I don't know.

    Murray comes across to me as an unpleasant character, but that's a separate issue. I may be wrong like, but there you go.
