Why the chuff is everyone so surprised by the retained list?

    Anyone that goes to Oakwell regularly, looking at who's been involved and who hasn't, could have come up with a list that was 99% the same.

    Only marginal call for me was Etuhu - has done well at right back but not outstanding, possibly too inconsistent and doesn't really have a best position.

    Slightly confused with the Mellis scenario - maybe this is just a ploy to get compensation, offer him a token gesture contract then when someone else wants him a tribunal has to sort us some compensation out. Can't see why he would appear any more interested in League One if he stayed.

    Looks like club wanted to keep Lawrence but were miles off on what he wanted so that's fair enough.

    In your opinion of course, I'm surprised at Tomas being offered a contracted. I,m very disappointed but not surprised at Bobby leaving. Nothing to do with sentiment, just feel he has a lot to offer next season, particularly as it looks like that youth will be given a chance.

    I agree with you - apart from the Mellis one its more or less what I expected
    Just disappointed we want to keep dawson and disappointed we are releasing Hassel but I expected both of those

    I'm only surprised by Cywka, the rest of the players (Mellis aside) have gone exactly how I expected.
