What an absolutely atrocious decision not to take someone like Defoe bearing in mind the state of Rooney and Owen at the start. We all said it'd backfire. I'm not saying Walcott aint any good by the way, but why take a player that you've no intention of playing? If he won't even bring him on for a few minutes in the group stage against average opposition, surely he won't play him in a knockout game? Unless Rooney gets injured of course... in which case we might as well give up anyway.
The problem is taking Carrick and Jenas , not Walcott neither of Carrick nor Jenas is gonna kick a ball in this world cup.
They should have taken another right-back and another striker.
