Things seemed to have calmed down and everyone was positive after the last month of decent results and two wins over Christmas. I was at both festive games but couldn't get on Saturday. We drew 1-1 and are still in with a good chance of making Wembley. I was a firm believer that Altrincham should have been the end for LJ, but we stuck with him and results picked up. So why the fresh burst of anger and criticism just because we drew with Fleetwood!?
I don't think there's any anger like you I think he should have gone after Altrincham but he stayed so it is what it is. I guess there was a collective groan from people that it had appeared over a 6 week period that LJ had abandoned his preset ideas and had finally highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of his better players and had formed a team around that. Then at the first disruption to his team the was abandoned.
we didnt play well, we didnt win, we sort of didnt play 442 although i think LJ tried to. to be fair some dont need much of an opportunity although LJ's usual critics were not that verciferous this weekend just gone... theyve realised they need to embrace the fact we are rubbish! oh and id love someone to be able to see how often and when wath and west melton tyke posts.... my guess its about an hour after loss and never heard of again until the next time!
They were just waiting for another chance to bang the drum, didn't the "sack him" article go up about 30 seconds after the goal by my reckoning? Some just get excited when things don't go exactly to plan so they can complain some more.
That rather sums it up though I think. It kind of highlights to me, yet again, that LJ is a bloody poor manager. Yes, we picked up a bit, but I feel that it was despite LJ not because of him. There is one person that can be credited with our recent slight upturn in results. That persons name is not Johnson, it is Hammill
It never went away. Most people with half a brain cell could see cracks were just being papered over. A leopard never changes its spots and LJ has shown that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Because nothing's changed. There's no plan b other than pass it to Hammill. Whenever he comes up against a good full back (Wigan at Oakwell, Sheff Utd & Fleetwood) we're clueless
[Don't agree that Hammill is the one person responsible for the 'slight upturn' Football is a team game and all the team (including manager) are responsible for the outcome of games, good bad or indifferent. In my opinion we need to give Williams and Abbott time ti get up to match speed and fitness. The rerurn of Watkins and Scowen in due course can only add to our options and experience, assuming no-one else picks up and injury or suspension.
