This is very true. Barnsley fans always have to have something to whinge about even when times are good.
What always happens whe we get a big game like this is that a few people have to point out on the message board that they'd rather us win the forthcoming league game, etc, as apparently this shows that they are the real fans and not these johnny comes lately who they think only wants to go to the big games. It gets a bit tedious to be honest. Yes, the leagues games are just as important, if not more so, but if people qren't allowed to get excited about seeing us play the league champions in the quarter finals of the cup then I have to wonder whether it's worth having a football team to support. Can't we simply want us to win all the games?
I'm going to watch the reds v Bolton tomorrow but not going to man city next week. Why? Because we have a sniff of a result tomorrow being the main reason, also, probably not get a ticket being a casual, non-season/centenary member. Fair enough really, not that bothered about dropping £100 plus to watch us get tonked at the ethiad tbh, will just subscribe to espn for a month for a tenner instead and sit on my couch fooked off that we have had a footballing lesson. Hope I'm wrong but I fear defeat is all but nailed on next setdi. Anyway, COYR's for tomorrow vs Bolton! ;-)
I look forward to every match I can get to, always have. It's a treat for me going to a game and when we win I sometimes don't want to leave. Unless you support a big club the glamour ties don't come around very often, so why shouldn't people get excited? Plus, it gives the season ticket holder their 15 minutes and who'd begrudge them that?
I love it. Especially not living in Barnsley. People actually ask me questions about us for a change. I still get work colleagues commenting on the Chelsea game and the fact we've been to Wembley. Can't wait for tomorrow's game too, but big cup ties don't come around very often and we should enjoy it when it does, its all part of football.
I wouldn't say it's more important, but by the same token I don't think anyone should apologise for looking forward to an occasion like Man City. I always look forward to away trips where we take loads of fans, and to me, this is a"can't lose" type of game. Obviously we can lose, but if we do, there will be no shame in it. We will probably take a similar no to Hillsborough, but it will be a horrible day out if we lose. Right now though the Bolton game is the most important, followed by the remaining league games.
Cant wait for Saturday as always also looking forward to next week I can get openly exited about going to man c without been berated for it this board bakes head sometimes!
