It's odd isn't it, showed absolutely no sign of injury at all in the first half, none as he left the pitch but after no doubt being told of his howler at half time he suddenly became injured. The club WILL have had someone watching skg and WILL have made sure that as they left the pitch or during half time the ref was made aware of the fact that isgrove was in a different postcode to the last defender and I reckon that the coward with the flag bottled it and faked injury to avoid having to face the crowd
So the linesman the Ponty booed when he came to check the nets just before the second half wasn't the same fella who ****** up the disallowed goal?? No wonder he was smiling! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Watched the game back last night. You could see him say "did I get it right?" into his mic shortly after. Hecky then told him what-for at half time too. He was getting plenty of abuse from the east stand as well. Apparently he was carrying an injury towards the end of the half though.
Course he was... If he was carrying an injury then he should have removed himself straight away. Carrying on till half time was irresponsible because he couldn't possibly keep up with play
There were 3 men dressed in black stood behind me whilst I was placing my usual 6-1 to the Super Reds bet. I heard one asking his mate what odds would he get for a perfectly good goal being chalked off for offside in the first half and would they payout at half time as he had a 7pm appointment at Specsavers in Meadowhall.
Nice conspiracy theory but they said he was feeling a calf injury before half time, and if a linesman bottled it everytime a crowd took against him they would need a subs bench bigger than the teams
He probably got injured trying to keep up with the play when Issy scored. He wasn't flagging for offside - it was a nervous reaction to the pain shooting up his leg, through his body and up to the flag. Once the arm was up he couldn't take it down. Curious though that the ref didn't go and have a chat with him along the lines of "Are you sure about that?" On the other hand though, given his incompetency, he probably thought why bother?
When they said on sky that he's gone off injured Dave Bassett said " has he gone to see an eye specialist". Both th him and Holloway couldn't believe how bad a decision it was.
Crime prevention. The pictures of how far onside Isgrove was when the cross was played in from which he scored were circling at half time and the bookies were taking bets on who was going to do him in first.
On the Sky highlights the lino is exactly slap bang dead in line with the play and afterwards is seen 'sprinting' back to the halfway line at normal lino speed. So I don't buy the fitness thing at all, straight incompetence or bias are the only two explanations of that decision. He may have later developed a mystery strain when realising he'd been exposed.
If you watch the replays not only is he up with play but he is further forward than Izzy, meaning he must have seen Izzy run past him to get to the ball, total incompetence...........
