Has anybody ever done it? Told people you were going to/had been to a game when in reality you weren't or hadn't? If so why?

Just seen somebody who I know for a fact isn't going to wembley tweeting to a few of our players that he's bought his tickets and is all set for the big game.

Cover story for some extra-marital activity?

I did think that as a reason in some cases and I can understand using it as a cover for doing something else you don't want people to know about but the person I know of isn't doing anything untoward or embarrassing, he's simply pretending he is going to the game seemingly to appear a better fan. Seems a bit weird to me does that

I guess the fact that he's tweeting the players shows that he just wants to appear popular.

I have, to get out of working a Saturday! It's happened the other way around too when I've been "ill" and needed a day off.

    I did once

been injured for a while and sneaked out one Sunday morning with my boots (supposedly to watch) on the grounds that a post match lecture from the missus about how I should have more sense and give it another week or two, was better than a pre match one as well :D

Not me but a bloke I was talking to at the 1912 replay said he'd been to the first game but I never saw him there.

Mate, is this the first time a lass has ignored you on facebook or something? I doubt it like but you seem to have taken it hard.

Don't flatter yourself "mate" I've got football fans from all over Europe and even BBSers I've never met on Facebook. An old friend of yours from school says hi.

John you're starting to look a bit pathetic now following Jamdrop roubd the board and mocking her wherever you can, changing your signature to attempt to insult her, sending abusive private messages. What exactly has she done to upset you?
