Why not let them wear them if they want. I doest really affect us. Its not there is a bomb under there? This argument has been going on in France for years.
The argument in France is due to the separation of the Church and State. You are not allowed to wear "religious clothing/items" in Government buildings.
Hence theĀ hajib , crucifix , skull cap , turbanĀ etc are all banned under French law.

Well my problem is that these women are concealing their identity. In the days when you have to take baseball hats and crash helmets off when you walk into banks and petrol stations so that you can be caught on camera, these women are allowed to walk about with their faces covered up. You try doing the same and see what happens to you. You would have an armed responce unit on your arse in double quick time. Another thing what bugs me is why are they always dressed head to foot in black. They look sinister and intimidating to me to me and I'm not easily intimidated. Years ago I trained as a Lecturer and one of the girls was a muslim. She was a lovely girl who always covered her hair and was drop dead gorgeous. She told me it was a cultural thing not a religeous requirement. These women who wear the vail are just taking modesty to an extrame level. Perhaps the women who hide their faces behind the vail are just pig ugly so they are probably doing us all a favour by keeping their face covered. I wonder if these womoe have any objection to Jack Straw being a Jew or would they like him to be replace by Choudary?
RE: When was the last time you heard... It would be easy for any criminal to dress up as a vailed woman and commit an offence. I don't see why muslim women should be given any more rights than anyone else. If I go to live in a muslim country I would expect to obey their laws. I'm sure I would be dealt with more severly in an muslim country if I broke the law than what muslims are here. I see at lot of these women when I visit Dewsbury and one thing I have noticed is that you get families shopping in groups and some of the women are vailed and others not.Age doesn't appear to be a factor. This tell me that it's not a religeous issue.
thing is if i go to tescos wearing a baseball cap i get followed as they think im a shop lifter. you wear a ninja outfit...you get the key to the store
they should be outlawed end of story,if they want to live in this country they accept our laws, they use them when it suits them! Its devisory no wonder there is so much hate between religions.
RE: When was the last time you heard... Of course its a religious thing, it's also personal choice though. Not every Christian person wears a crucifix, that doesn't mean it isn't a religious thing though for people who do. And what extra rights? They are simply wearing a bloody veil. I love the comments such as "they should live as we do" - what states how people live in this country, perhaps someone should tell us. I'm watching baseball on TV at the moment, thats not part of this countries culture...perhaps that should be banned from TV! Tell you what though - we can get rid of ***** lager though and every one has to drink real ale because thats part of the countries culture.
Some women had her veil ripped off near where I work and had loads of abuse thrown at her. Some people are stupid
