Why is it that we have these so called "bogey grounds"? Despite Port Vale being within my travelling range ( I dont make the long away trips anymore as its too much like hard work) I probably wont ever go there again. Ive been umpteen times and weve only won once when we were promoted. Its madness that we can have a different board, management and squad but still the same outcome for season after season. I know theres time to get back into this particular game but Im going to stick my neck out and suggest we wont on the basis of what ive just written.
Definately Hillsborough. Every time we lose there I say never again but always go incase I miss the one time we eventually win.......or even bloody draw!!!! Lester and Riley scored when i last saw us win!!!!
RE: and Oakwell At the Supporters' Trust meeting on Wednesday night, Rick Holden talked about Port Vale having a 'big' pitch which 'stretched' us last season - what did he mean? Are some pitches bigger than others, or do they fall within fixed criteria?
RE: and Oakwell some pitches are a lot bigger than others, the one at hampden park it absolutly huge. I think there are maximum and minimum guidlines for clubs to stick to but these vary depending on the competition. for example clubs playing in europe sometimes have to re-mark their pitch for Premiership and European games to make the pitch wider/longer, narrower/shorter.
