Good on 'em Can never understand the comments that they might not be up for it. What an incentive for a professional to be able to deny another team from winning the title.
RE: Same couldn't be said of West Ham last week I just thought that was because Man Utd were too good for them, West Ham just weren't in it
This game needs to be abandoned and replayed with a capable referee. What the hell is going on there, he might as well put a red shirt on. 3 major decisions (Ferdinand handball, Man U penalty, and now Scholes' potential 2nd yellow) and he's got every one of them wrong
RE: This game needs to be abandoned Feel sorry for the Man Utd as it will be said they were handed the title on a plate because of this ref. The rest of the season will be forgotten about. Then again at least it will make all the man utd haters out there happy, sad really
RE: This game needs to be abandoned It's not really about Man Utd, it's about sheer incompetence. I just don't understand how referees can get these decisions so wrong so consistently, all 3 decisions seemed obvious to me immediately, and the ref has had a different opinion of all three. OK the Man Utd penalty was easy enough to get wrong, but the other 2 are inexcusable. Given the importance of the game it is nothing short of a disgrace. If Rob Styles wasn't the 4th official I'd suggest a half time change. I can't say I like Man Utd, and I'm probably one of those you'd describe as a 'Man Utd hater,' but I find it hard to 'feel sorry' for them in this case. If they win the title then it's because they've deserved it over 38 games. What really irks me is that Ferguson is constantly whinging about refs when more often than not these decisions tend to go their way. He's even been at it in this half for some reason - has he been giving the 4th official an earful for giving them the decisions?!
RE: This game needs to be abandoned I agree the ref & officials have been a disgrace. You had the sense to say all 38 games count but the man utd haters will just latch on to the bad decisions made in this game and come out with the usual comments. As Fergie with the 4th official they were probably discussing where he wanted his free holiday courtesy of MUFC!
Exactly! Not only that but a couple of league places can mean a big drop in financial prizemoney at the end of the season. The higher they finish the more money they get. No way are they just gonna roll over - especially seeings as they are local rivals.
Don't get me started on that! Was looking forward all of yesterday and this morning to watching an exiting relegation battle. Unfortunately because I have Sky through Virgin Media, I've got a choice of Wigan v Man Utd or Chelsea v Bolton, neither of which I'm particularly bothered about.
