home game opener, against one of the promotion favourites - couldn't have asked for more than that, as an early test of our mettle. followed by a first saturday away day at blackpool (not that i'll be going to the $hit hole). home on boxing day, home on final day. all good
If Coyle can keep the momentum going at Wigan to the level they played at during the last part of last season then I think that they will dominate the Championship this season I don't think we could have got a more difficult first game at home.
Re: Terrific opening fixture I reckon it'll be a good time to play them. There's going to be a lot of changes at Wigan and it may take the new players/manager time to bed down. Get at 'em early and show them the Championship is not an easy league to be in. I smell 3 points.
I seem to remember west brom were a strong side first up 96-97, we all know what happened from there....
Re: Terrific opening fixture Couldn't agree more, Coyle will have to bring in plenty of players as they'll undoubtedly have to sell a few to balance the books so hopefully they'll need time to settle in.
It is clearly a training game organized by Arsene Wenger. He wants Scott Golbourne to show Gael Clichy how to defend against Callum Mcmannaman. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Mancini, sorry. But that wouldn't work because he isn't City manager anymore. Forget it, it probably is our first Championship fixture.
