    Yes, I have.

Then surely you can see him doing well in the Premiership!

He's turned into a very decent left back over the past few years, and I'm surprised Hibs have kept hold of him for as long as they have.

You reckon he's good enough for the Premiership? I really have to disagree mate. He'd be excellent at Championship level, but I personally think he'd be out of his depth at Premiership level.

Well, in my opinion I think he'd do well playing in the Premiership, especially the way he has developed over the past few years. I'm not going to knock your opinion because you're entitled to it, but I hope he proves you wrong :)

    I hope he does too.

The SPL is a completely different kettle of fish to the Premiership, barring Rangers/Celtic and maybe one or too more, it's going to be a huge step for him playing against the likes of Arsenal/Man United for a team with the defensive frailities of Wigan. If he was going to a better team, then maybe, just maybe - he would do just fine.

Good luck to him anyway, he did alright for us.

LDRed name the last player to come from the SPL and do well in the Prem

Don't say Henrik Larsson cause he was only in the prem for about three months

So, he doesn't count because he was only there for 3 months?

well he can hardly be said to have had a long term impact

challenge for you - one player who played at least one full season

But he still made an impact of some sort, so he's the last player, although he didn't come direct from the SPL.

yeah but went a bit off boil towards the end

basically proves that 99.9% of players in SPL aren't good enough

although I will admit craig gordon has made a good start

McFadden has done alright at Everton.

I just think it will be a BIG step up for Murphy, although I do wish the lad well.

Yep, another good example there. Sorry, "James G" but your theory is flawed.

Bugger, reading through this thread I was gonna say McFadden but was hoping nobody said it. I cant think of may other sthough that have done well. I too cannot see him pulling up any trees in the Prem to be honest, but to be fair I haven't seen him lately for Hibs. Playing really well for Hibs though is a completely different kettle of fish altogether than doing it in the EPL.
