    how does it work?
    Who updates it?
    You can google a celebrity/sportsman etc and find notes of things that have only just happened included.

    {Noted John Macken's entry, (unfair) but can anyone access this site and post information regardless of whether it's accurate or not?}

    As a general rule

    Anyone can update any page that hasn't been locked. Each entry though is, to a greater or lesser extent, monitored by their equivalent of site admin. If they see anything that is obvious cyber vandalism or mischievousness, they will remove it & also possibly, lock that entry for a period of time.

    If an entry is locked, as I understand it, only registered members can alter it.

    Also, anyone who they feel is guilty of regular vandalism/mischeivousness will have their IP banned, meaning that they can still read entries on the site, but can't alter anything.

    RE: As a general rule

    Thanks.
    I followed the GB cyclists at the Olympics and decided to look them up on Wikipedia.
    I was surprised to find that information about them was bang up to date. I wondered if there is a group of people somewhere whose job is to keep abreast of all the latest news and include things on Wikipedia.
