    No idea mate.....could be either.....a beaver having a paddle-like tail, that is not shown on the image?

    Interesting though.

    I do a lot of wild fishing, and believe me, I've seen some big rats.......

    I know they've be re-introduced up Scotland,maybe the sames happening in devon.

    We're going up to the Highlands of Scotland later this year for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The cottage that we've got is set in it's own private wood, with a river flowing at the edge of it. Now that you've said that, mate, I'll be on the look out for beavers.:D

    The last census put the number at something like 145 beavers in Scotland

    Got to say there's nothing that gets me going more than seeing a beaver that I haven't seen before........just makes me want to cuddle up with it and give it a long good kiss.

    The Oxford English Dictionary describes 'Beaver'.............as the most beautiful thing that you are ever likely to see in your foooking life.......end of
