One of the Radio Sheffield guys has just tweeted that Wilkinson's gone back to Bolton, Smith to Swindon & Jackson has been released
Personally glad to see the back of Wilkinson & Smith & would've liked to have seen more of Jackson. I presume this means he'll be using Watkins as a striker for the rest of the season, so that's him, Winnall & White plus probably 2 new ones
LJ failed badly with Smith. Quite disappointed with that one, signed and stuck on the bench for the few first games. Not used in the correct manor. 16 goals last year. Bad man management by LJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So what does this say about the stats and the performance indicators? And how much have we invested in paying these three for virtually nil return?
None of them will have cost us anything but wages - no harm done. Try before you buy working well. Think Smith and Jackson would have contributed if given game time, but as it is they won't be missed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The be replaced by three more bags of ***** loan signings that won't get a handful of games between them.
Can't believe people are moaning, well I can actually. All 3 were not getting a game and as such were wasting space in our squad, debate the relative merits of why that happened or why they were signed in jacksons case by all means but for me it's the right decision. I can't see that any of them cost us much and far better than getting lumbered with any of them on 3 year deals
Easy to say jackson wasn't given a chance but we don't see him training everyday. I think he was only brought in for cover. His scoring record over recent seasons isn't great either good luck to the lad though. Glad to see back of Wilkinson just glad we didn't pay the fee we had agreed with Bolton for him.
Clearly somethings not right with Smith explains why Swindon have been happy to let him go out on loan. At least we have some wages free to hopefully do some wheeling and dealing next month. Just a shame most of Johnsons signings have been mostly underwhelming this far.
Says we are hoping to extend wabara, white and Isgrove deals. And also trying to extend Ben pearsons stay but face competition. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/barnsley-fc/barnsley-release-trio-of-loanees-1-7648400
About time! A tad disappointed with how LeeJay has handled Jackson, thought he could offer something. Wabara and Isgrove can leave for me, try and sign Aidy White permanently, been really impressed, and would be happy if we extend Pearson's loan. Apart from that i'd be a bit cautious letting LeeJay bring in new players.
I'm not overly keen on keeping Wabara. He played well & put in a lot more effort the other day but overall I think he's been a disappointment & has gone backwards since we first signed him. I'd prefer to use the wages elsewhere & proceed with Bree as first choice RB & George Williams as his back up. Pearson & Isgrove have both been inconsistent but I do feel both want to be here & put in the kind of effort that suggest they're worth keeping especially if they can perform like they did against Blackpool more often. Although in both cases of we can get a player of similar ability on a permanent deal I'd prefer to do that
I agree with that much rather us play bree who from what I have seen has always looked a decent laiker to me. And has been unlucky to lose his place. Isgrove and Pearson I would like to stay until end of season but wouldn't be gutted if they did go they have been inconsistent.
I won't lose sleep over Smith and Wilkinson who both looked disinterested and offered nothing. Completely baffled as to why Jackson was never given more game time. Proven goalscorer, made an impact when he came on in games but was never given a run of matches despite Winnall and Watkins often underperforming. Reckon he'll do a job for someone else.
