Will commentators stop this "more goals in the European Cup than Ian Rush" etc

    FFS! Nothing to do with them
    1. Being able to play in it more seasons due to only having to finish top 4 rather than Champions so teams are in it every year
    2. More guaranteed games because of group stages.

    both true.

    But its still true he has scored more goals than ian rush.

    Rushies achievement is probably better but thats a different arguement

    But the annoying thing is how there are a whole load more records with the creation of the Premier League as though a league didn't exist before but they just continue with European Cup/Champions League.

    It was the way the commentator was saying "More than Ian Rush, can you believe that?" - well yes I can!

    i agree with the premier league thing. Its just a name. things were the same before.

    The david james clean sheet record is a case in point. Loads of keepers have kept more clean sheets in top flight football than him but 1 more clean sheet and he sets a record
