    Yes, why not?

He didn't do anything that countless others at this World Cup have done...i.e. approach the ref. It's not as though he fell over when Rooney pushed him. The ref just got it wrong but Ronaldo didn't "get" Rooney sent off.

So Ronaldo's behaviour during the game was excusable?

His taunt at Rooney before the game, his spitting at Rooney, his wink towards the bench when his plan to get Rooney sent off succeeded?

Thats his club teammate. If he does return to Man Utd, hes much braver than the tart that I think he is, because I'd be flipping terrified to approach Rooney and Gary Neville, along with Rio, after what I'd done.

Didn't see any spitting, the taunting - who knows what was said...might have been just some banter.

They showed the Rooney taunt after the game..

Pauleta said something to Rooney, and then Ronaldo wandered over, appeared to put his hand somewhere near Rooney's crotch, whispered something and then butted him, whilst Rooney clearly did his best to ignore it.

Its not just based on his antics today that I hate him, he's been a ***** ever since he first "graced" the Premiership with his cheating and diving, but today was the final straw, and somehow I don't see Rooney taking the attitude with him that you're taking. And if Fergie's gotta' end up choosing between the two, I would think he'd choose Rooney.

Rooney's a young lad who is not going to get over this easily - rightly or wrongly, he's going to blame Ronaldo for it. And thats not going to be easy to get over.

I don't think the strong talk linking him with Real Madrid all week is any coincidence, and I'd be surprised if he didn't go.

Kin ell talk about rose tinted specs, Ronaldo came over and specifically got Rooney wound up he had no other reason to be involved in that area

He didn't say anything to Rooney though, he went to the ref. There was no need for Rooney to push him. It wasn't a red card offence, in fact there shouldn't even have been a free kick anyway.

If England fans next season choose to boo Ronaldo because of that then they show their own ignorance and small minded mentality.

As for "rose tinted specs" - I'm a fecking England fan!

I predict a deal seeing Ronaldo go to Madrid and Beckham come back to Manchester

    I hope so

the sooner that diving, blubbering, cheating little ***** leaves the Premiership the better. I bet his parents are right proud of him!

    that Korean

who put Italy out of Euro 2002 by scoring that goal. He then got sacked by his Italian club Regianna.
Dont think Sir Alex is a passionate enough English man to do that, mainly because he isnt English.
Ronaldo will get some right stick though, so will that ref.

You might be an England fan but you can't deny that you defend all things Man U and I realise that you are struggling here to defend them both at once

I will deny that I defend all things Man Utd because I don't.

I'll take it back if you can prove to me that Ronaldo got Rooney sent off.

    Sorry Eaststander...

But Ronaldo made it clear, prior to the match even starting, that his plan was to antagonise Rooney, with his little headbutt on Rooney. Rooney didn't really seem to see the funny side of it, and nor should he.

I hated him before today. He embodies everything thats bad in football, cheating, gamesmanship, diving, and extreme over the top arrogance. Today was just the icing on the cake.

If he doesn't get his legs broken by Rooney/Neville/Ferdinand in pre-season, then I'd expect him to leave anyway.

I think Eaststander, you were pissed out of your mind watching the England game. Ronaldo clearly head-butted Rooney and whispered verbal comments in his ear before the matched kicked off. He clearly got Rooney sent off with his acting abilities to the ref. And to top it all the cheating t*at winked and smiled at his bench when Rooney walked. He clearly knows that he is going to Madrid, because the cheating get, knows what he his -A CHEATING TW8AT.
