well ok his league efforts may not have been great..but he has to be eternally thanked for my FA cup days at Anfield,Oakwell and Wembley...that will live with me forever, thanks Simon if only for that. Magical moments come far and few between for clubs like us.But we have had a good deal of them over the last 10+ years. Its not that bad being a tarn fan we have had sunshine days a lot more than most.
RE: The simple question is, is he a legend?look at some of the muppets they have rolled out then and the answer is maybe
Well Parky some think Ferenczi is a legend and Davey achieved more with us than Stan did. But no Davey isn't a legend.
Stan IS a legend In my opinion. He played a major part in keeping us up when he arrived. That was a vital contribution from him - that and his fantastic attitude make him a legend in my eyes.
Different kettle of fish entirely People see Stan as a legend due to his personality and workrate, not because of his scoring/playing record. For a foreign player to integrate so well particularly at a club/in a town like Barnsley is quite remarkable.
Davey is a Legend too IMO When Ritchie was Manager we were nailed on to be Relegated, but he kept us up</p> He got us to a FA Cup SEMI FINAL, A trip to Wembley beating big teams along the way</p> He got us much better players than we started withand got rid of deadwood,</p> The Players seemed to like him too JCR "Signed new deal because of Davey" Hammill "Davey was a major factor in me signing"</p> Ritchie got us up, from a **** League, and IMO Davey has done aswell as Ritchie did with us</p>
The Lunatics have definitely taken over the Asylum What a load of cobblers. The players liked him because they knew that he would always play them, because the were his favourites, amazing how some of the players since his departure have raised their game and others that were guaranteed starters have got the titty lip on or have "lost their form" !!!!
