depends on if you think short term-yes the extra revenue would help stabilise the club and for a couple of weeks we would be the talk of the nation.
but if you are a long time regular red and have the future of the club in mind consolidation and even 19th place come the end of the season would be a great result. we have a good foundation within our squad when everyone is fit, with a couple ofadditions ,come next season we can start to compete with the so called bigger clubs.(chinny)

dont get me wrong i want to stay up it goes without saying......but weve won the cup once, none of us saw it....I grew up on FA cup finals dreaming...If only. But we were in the 4th div and it was naver gonna be us.....Now it can be, and I for one would take the FA cup....lets fookin win summat!
I'd hate to see us relegated back to the pub league, BUT, in a strange kind of way, of course it would be a successful season if we won the cup. Everyone of a red persuasion knows that the last time we won it was 1912 - its etched in the minds of Barnsley fans, and none of us were there to see it - it was nearly a century ago - ITS THAT BIG A DEAL. It would be a dreadful end to the season to go down, and I dread the thought of going to watch crap teams next year in front of 6 thousand fans, but one day we would come back again - It's unlikely we will EVER win the cup again, and certainly not in my lifetime.
It will be a failure because the board stated our ambitions were consolidation in the championship, who would have expected us to be in the semi final of the FA cup last summer so in event relegation would be a failure the FA cup would only be a bonus
my dad says he'll stop going if we go down. that means i'll have to go by myself and i dunno if i will.
well i'll be sat on my own won't i? no friends who support barnsley plus it's not the same.. 10 years its been he's seen a lot worse and he's thinking of packing it in :/
