Well its a good un to ask..

We have sold/released 3 fringe players and replaced them with nothing our squad is hit with injuries and its looking very threadbare. If he does sign anyone it will be some unknown player from any country. It worries me as we have missed out on various players.

I dont think we will and end up being relegated to league 1 as I said in a previous post my optimism is quickly fading

    Yes

and Im going to stick my virtual neck out and say it will be either Liam Dickinson or Anthony Stokes, most likely on loan with a view to a permanent deal, probably already lined up between the respective clubs but announced late next week.

Just a hunch based on copious reading of footy news sites, how things seem to pan out, a little understanding of how agents and players work, snippets from inside the club and our recent history of signings in Jan.

Probably completely wrong like, and certainly wouldnt put money on it.

would be my preference of the two, on basis that the other one sounds like a troubled child, has problems of the powder kind, allegedly of course, allegedly I said, your honour.

on the basis that Derby spent £750,000 on him, never played him and loaned him out as soon as they could

    and they're worse than us

is he at Derby?? think i read in the paper somewhere, just after Clough got the job, that they were willing to let him go.

scored 4 in 5 at Blackpool when on loan, and finished with more than Jamie Ward in the lower pub league when at Stockport. 6 foot 4 inches if soccerbase is right.

Name your source and justify yourself.

If he's 6'4 then hes precisely 1 foot too tall to be a Barnsley striker.

Wait until late next week and that's another three points lost when we lose to Ipswich.

    Without a shadow of doubt

who it will be is anybodies guess.

Anybody that thinks we wont make at least one signing is frankly barking IMHO

he scored about four more in 25 more games

he has done well at Blackpool I agree but I fear he would turn out to be no better than KO for us

    All signings are a gamble

all the manager can do his homework and cross fingers, hope player brings form, effort and attitude. Dickinson went to Huddersfield and scored goals, then the Blackpool and scored goals, the former manager wants him at Leeds, mustve fallen out with Jewell and Clough hasnt played him, I'd say of all the names mentioned, he's a realistic as any. Better than ODJ? Well, he wont stand out as much, will he.
