I spoke to him recently and have to admit i liked what he said. I'm looking forward to the new conservative government running this country. I only hope that the damage this shower of crap has done can be undone within ten years.
Surely even our resident communist would struggle to defend this labour government.

Is that me? Officially like? Lovely...

You liked what he said? What did he say, out of interest?

It is a real shame that some good achievements of this government are marred by errors such as the Iraq War. I would have hoped Brown would have moved to the left but he is paralysed by fear.

What everyone patently fails to recognise is that it is our system of capital that has failed and teh economic madness required to continue breaking a law of nature and making something out of nothing.

Perhaps people will realise eventually there is more to life than working and chasing the pound and then try and change society.

I'm quite looking forward to the supposed foregone conclusion of a Tory government led by the substanceless Cameron, and fighting the inevitable privatisation of the NHS and Education.

The other thing is all this brass that is owed to god knows who, so fecking what. Just refuse to pay it.

    Tories

I am no great fan of this government - I used to be a member of the Labour Party, but left in 1998 - but the Tories would be bad news for this country. They would reverse all the good things that Labour have done and do nothing to rectify the mistakes. As for Iraq etc, they would have been George Bush's poodles just like Blair and Brown.

As for Hague, I knew the little runt at school - he was a couple of years younger than me at Wath Grammar - unversally hated by everyone, even Tory supporters.

Vote Lib Dem - at least they seem to offer something different.

Go on then - what has labour done for us.

All I can see is them taking the benefit of Maggie sorting the unions out and it's taken them 10 years to **** it right up.

Becuase employers only have to pay a minium of £x it means they can lower the basic rates of pay for certain jobs.

You can chose to work elsewhere

You are not forced to work for peanuts.

FFS when are people going to take responsibility for themselves.

If you don't like your job, get another one.

yes, a strong union, they can threaten to go have a riot like they did the other week and bring the country to a standstill. This countrys rotten from top to bottom and no matter who takes control at the next election, they will be buggered to get close to clearing up the mess.

    Some suggested policies

For whoever is in charge this time next year...

    NHS

    - introduce a refundable deposit for doctor's appointments. The number of no-shows costs the country millions, as well as reducing availability for genuine patients.
    - take credit card details from all non-UK nationals BEFORE treatment. We get totally ripped off by health tourists, who have no right to free care.
    - long-term, I think we may have to move to an NHS for emergency and life-threatening illness only. The rest will ultimately become an unaffordable burden on the taxpayer, so insurance may have to take over.

    IMMIGRATION

    - Anything other than the current complete open door policy would be an improvement... Consider economic need, and cultural fit. Uneducated, low skilled, non-english speaking people from third-world countries with entirely different cultural and belief systems (often incompatible with ours) only damage our society.

    TAX

    - Simplify and reduce

    BENEFITS

    - Simplify and reduce
