<h3 class="headline">UNITED CHAIRMAN REJECTS WILLIAMSON BID - REPORT </h3> <p align="center"></p> REDS boss Simon Davey has seen his bid for Rotherham United midfielder Lee Williamson snubbed by the Millers, according to BBC Radio Sheffield.</p> Barnsley Football Club made an offer of £200,000 for the ex-Northampton Town and Mansfield Town star but this has been rejected by the United Chairman Denis Coleman.</p> Speaking to <span style="color: red"><span style="color: red">BBC Radio Sheffield</span></span>, Coleman said: "We've got other bids on the table higher than that, so why would we accept that one? We've had three official bids since yesterday morning, and a verbal bid from a fourth one.</p> "We've got one or two other teams who have made enquiries last week, so things are starting to happen this week, both for Lee (Williamson) and obviously there's a lot of interest in Will Hoskins as well. We've had two official bids now for Will, both in excess of £500,000, both have been turned down, and we've just got a third offer in this morning, I'll look at that later on."</p>
We Don't Wanna........ get into a bidding war for a third division player who isn't fully fit. My Millers mate told me he is highly overated and she knows what she is talking about.
Re: Williamson Bid Rejected. Surprised we made it public, alerted others. Seems a naive way to do business, expose your hand to all and sundry.
Re: Williamson Bid Rejected. Surprised we made it public, alerted others. Smokescreen bid for gullible fans, they knew it wouldn't be accepted.
Surprise, surprise I maintain that an offer comparitive to won that had previously been rejected was intended to make it seem like the club are trying to strengthen the squad. They knew it was likely the offer would be rejected, and if it wasn't they'd get a decent player for next to nowt. Just trying to stem the tide of annoyance from the fans at the appointment of Simon Davey.
I dont know WTF GS was upto with this one I cannot imagine It will do nothing other than piss people off even more. I hope there is a strategy here and that its just not simply naivity. For what its worth I think rovrum are just doing their best to up the bidding. I am hoping we have something up our sleeves but if this transfer window closes with nothing other than disappointment and petty excuses then I'm afraid its curtains.
