Could well be close to happening. His success rate with signing is poor, our home record shocking and just because he's not been here long should it mean he stays. Patrick Cryne is a successful business fella and isn't the type to put up with failure. That was without a doubt the worst home performance I can remember in the last ten years. Probably in the past 25 years watching us. We've been battered by plenty of teams but not at home, by a team of part timers who train twice a week and are two leagues below us. They had better fitness than us and dominated the entire game. We could have easily lost 5-0 on another day with the Houriane/Dudgeon goal line clearances and the rest of it. The manager has made watching us a chore. We were never this bad with Hill or Flicker in charge.
I know its been a poor season and there isn't anything to shout about right now but we were this bad and a lot worse last season. Things will get better but we have to stick with Danny and give him time. Sacking managers doesn't work.
short memories our play this season up to 3 weeks ago has been fairly decent - we definitely had many dreadful perfonmances under Both Hill and Flicker -though they never had the chance to play a conference side. By the way Hills Rochdale just scraped a lucky draw at conference side Aldershot - and from what I can gather that was only thanks to the keeper having a blinder as well - Cup games are a poor guide - I am more concerned by our last 2 home league games but we shouldnt be anywhere near sacking a manager yet
we are as bad as anything we've been in the last 10 years or more,pi55 poor and somebody has to be held to account and the buck stops with wilson.
the wilson apologists are really starting to grate with me now, to be perfectly honest. any other manager would be getting hammered by all quarters, right now. show me the stats under wilson since he returned, and tell me where this progress is, that people keep taking about. today's performance was awful. again. i'm really pi$$ed off, so apols if i'm going overboard..i'm just really, really, annoyed..
Too right. 2 weeks ago fans were snapping up the last tickets for Chesterfield. There was an enthusiasm about us. I do wish folks would get a sense of perspective. The reality is that we're going nowhere this season. There's alot of work to be done. We have some talented players, but we are desperately short on fit players at the moment. That said, when the going gets tough, Wilson should have enough experience to take things back to basics. It was forgiveable of Wilson to expect the players to turn over a none league side using a 433, but when it's clearly not working, he needs to just get it back to a basic 442, and give the formation a bit of width. We looked better when Treacy & Jennings gave us width. WHat I don't unbderstand is the insistance on a front 3, when none of them are performing. Wilson needs to admit when he's getting it wrong, and change things. The players also need to take some responsibility. Lost count of the times I saw Trotta; Hourihane and Berry blaming each other for misplaced passes.
DW had the time and resource to put up a better fight than we did last season. He failed. DW has had a (relative) big budget for League 1 and has been backed by Cryne/Mansford, but we are toiling at the wrong end of the table and struggling to impress our own game on the opposition. I believe he is failing this season. Should he go? Probably not, but come the end of the Festive period, if we haven't improved our League position and succesfully got through the Chester game, I see no reason to keep him.
Av seen tripe under every manager we`ve hed in my supporting lifetime. Is it better or worse, No, tripe is tripe just that.
Here we go again. Let's sack another manager. If the new guy hasn't improved things by Easter then we can get shut of him too. Changing managers like that rarely works.
They say "there's none so blind". And that is why he will not admit it. A lot of us have seen its not working (3 up front) but somehow he appears not to. We had a poor start to the season, got some loanees in (one of which ((Williams)) seems to be irreplaceable) and started to pick up. Then cos we cant replace Williams we change the system to 4 3 3 and it doesn't work for us. No problem with trying systems but we have to be more reactive to poor displays. When Winnall went of injured he had the chance to change from 433 but he didn't. I am beginning to doubt his capabilities. Again today when Ramage went off injured, I would not have brought Brown on and it would have been Holgate for me. COME ON DANNY SORT IT!
Read my post again. I am not saying sack him now, but things MUST improve. I dont mind taking a step back (relegation) to then take two steps forward, that is progress. But the way we are at the moment, we keep falling back on the excuse of "we are re-building". I dont even see any foundations, never mind building.
It did when we replaced PHart with Ritchie, Davey with Robins and and Berk with Flitcroft for a time.
Matches we've completely dominated are in short supply. We had some stinkers with those two in charge but they were against sides in our own league. To be dominated on our own pitch by a part time team with day jobs two leagues below is completely unacceptable and the worst performance imo in the 25 years of watching us. I believe Wilson has lived off his amazing one season 17 years ago and that if we still had Hill or Flicker in charge and had put in so many dross performances this season many more would be wanting a managerial change.
Apparently so....... https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=chester+fc+train+twice+a+week You wouldn't have known it though as they had much more energy than us and better fitness levels. For a fairly new team with no history they did extremely well and are well in their right to be disapointed at only drawing. Decent fans as well who without the match would have been very quiet. Only a few idiots stood at the front that let the club down.
