#barnsleyfc boss Danny Wilson says he'd be interested in bringing Chris O'Grady back to the club, should be become available. (1/2) #BHA #barnsleyfc boss DW added that he's heard nothing to suggest COG is available despite his lack of playing time at Brighton. #BHA boss Sammy Hyppia has also recently been quoted dismissing talk of a departure for COG.
Re: Begs the question Because we got about £1.3 million according to our CEO. I can't imagine us getting him back on anything near the money he's been quoted as being on but I'd like him to be here.
Blimey, I thought there was a clause £500k am sure was banded about as the figure, wasnt it what Charlton offered and we accepted? If Ben is saying £1.3m Im impressed, say no more. Wonder how much of the £1.3 million is left?
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause 250k on Winnall 200k on Hourihane Suspect Treacy is on decent wages. We must have a fair bit left to have been able to get into talks with Grant Holt. Would love to see O'Grady back here. Would think play offs would be a strong possibility if that came off.
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause £1.3 will include wages over the term of the contract maybe?
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause £1.3 million was the figure quoted when talking about O'Grady & Steele leaving us. If they were both on 8k a week, maybe that does include wages saved and a £500k fee? Dunno.
So we were willing to sell for £500k then has we were getting desperate to sell we sold him for £1.3m. Summat not reight abart this, can anybody smell owt.
If people are going to interpret things in their own way, that's not 'the club's' fault. Politics and that.
It was being banded about when he left us that we would get money per year for him as well so maybe we got £500,000 up front and the remainder of his contract, which was three years it would rise to £1.3 million. (£800,000 over three years which is just below £270,000 a year)
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause So we got £500k and the rest is what we saved ourselves or add ons that may come in future. Time they were up front on transfers.
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause I dunno. The exact wording I can't remember but it was phrased as 'as you saw, once Steele & O'Grady left us it opened the floodgates for signings because those two leaving brought in about £1.3 million'
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause Reight so £500K and the wages savings brought in £1.3m into this seasons budget. Apologies must be havin a more denser day than usual.
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause For me, not paying someone a wage does not bring in any money. It saves a considerable amount of money and shouldn't be underestimated or overlooked, but if you are told that selling two players brings in £1.3 million then that is extra income you got from those transfers. You can say the transfers brought in £1.3 million and saved us £2 million including wages, but if you say the transfers brought in £1.3 million and that includes the saving on wages then it's disingenuous. Not saying BFC have done that. I'm taking it as that's what we got from the transfer fees. If I've got it wrong it will be because, in my opinion, the club have released false information or it was lost in translation as we've played Chinese whispers. Send three and four pence, we're going to a dance.
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause Like I say, I can't remember the exact wording from the room but to be perfectly honest, I did take it as though O'Grady & Steele leaving brought in £1.3 million. With Steele seemingly going on a free, it made me think we got £1.3 million for O'Grady, excluding wages.
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause That's what I'd take from it too, but it may be they said, like Mr Northern says above, freed up rather than brought in. Big difference. I don't know, I do know it's not worth the time we've already given it.
Re: Blimey, I thought there was a clause This's Dyson's hastily pencilled notes causing confusion again.
