Just not good enough I'm sure many of here will think I am overreacting but we have a relegation battle on this season without doubt Any other manager would have gone by now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Proper fans will be along in a minute to explain why he's actually doing a great job against insurmountable obstacles.
I've got to agree mate but I'm guessing he knows that himself, I think the Xmas period is going to be a testing time for Danny boy having said that I really don't think he'll be sacked and rightly so I'm still confident in his ability to turn it around.
Who would you replace him with? Our form has gone down hill scince trying this 433 accomadating for trotta we havent won scince colcheater which seems ages ago now. But before chesterfield playoffs where on everyones threads now relegation.
12 months in charge and any other manager would have gone? That's the Massimo Cellino school of football ownership. Admittedly Danny's doing himself no favours right now but it's far from time to get shut of him.
Flitcroft had less than twelve months at a higher level. Gudjon had seven months with a budget of about nine quid per week. Same chairman.
He was the wrong man for the job and I posted this the minute the news started to creep out that he got the job. If flicker was still in charge and we were in the position we are now with him in charge this board would be in meltdown. Danny Wilson has made a career out of 2 good seasons and other than that he's done **** all! He couldn't even get Sheffield United promoted when they had a very good championship team, never mind league one. I don't like sacking managers year after year but he's been ****ing dreadful! We've got a good squad, probably in the top 4 teams on paper but Wilson has no idea how to play them. Get a young and hungry manager in and let him build the team.
As far as I am aware, the decision to sack Gudjon was Peter Ridsdale's, as he was desperate to bring in his own man.
He was - he inherited Gudjon from the former owners. Ridsdale was doing the front of house stuff but Patrick was paying the bills.
The way that I understood it, at that time Cryne was trying to be involved as little as possible with the running of the club, especially concerning the football side of things. Therefore, it wouldn't surprise me if he'd delegated all such decisions completely to the Riddler. Otherwise why bring him in, apart from to raise the profile of the club?
Nobody is blindly defending Wilson, he knows himself that things aren't good enough but he took over a proper shambles of a team and it was always going to take longer than one summer to sort it out. What evidence is there that sacking yet another manager is going to improve things? Patience required.
You mean the squad that Wilson built, completely from scratch, over the course of a few weeks?. Worth some credit perhaps? I know things aren't good at the moment and confidence is rock bottom. But it was only few short weeks ago that we were seeing regular signs of great things and some were talking about play offs. For me that was never gonna happen this year but I wish to god that folk would stop with the knee jerk judging on one or two games. I agree that if things dont improve over Christmas then he will be under pressure but I don't like it. I would be more than happy for Ben to come out and say that DW wont be sacked this year unless he shits on my desk, so stop talking about it. Then the team could start getting back on track without the pressure.
I'm still firmly in the Wilson camp. I just think sacking him isn't going to turn our fortunes around.
Im with mario whos the replacement? And changing manager every season has previously got us know where.
Where playing no better than last season with apparently a better team against poorer teams. I'm sorry but how can you defend that . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was DW that said we would finish in play offs this season and he'd give youngsters a chance. At the moment I can't see either of those things happening.
