Might as well get rid and give Mellon the job, send the loanees back, and introduce the youngsters ready for next season in league 1.
Sorry but Wilson is not the man for us. He did is job in the nineties.

Oh dear, the fans pleading for McCourt i can hear. And who do we get? Brek Shea! Hasn't got a clue.

If Mellon is in charge, BFC needn't bother bother their begging letters.

    Which youngsters would you play?

We'd have been down by now if if ****croft had stayed...

Appoint Mellon and they're down one season ticket next season. Mellon was part of the Flitcroft regime and part of the currrent regime. No evidence to suggest that he's the answer to the problems at Oakwell.

Any appointment at Christmas is a risky business. An external appointment like Danny needs a pre-season to get a squad he's comfortable with and set them up to play as he wants then to.

    Agreed, a pre-season is a massive help.

What concerns me is the poor tactics and continual "support" for, what are, poor players ie. Shea, Kennedy, Ramage

I said on an earlier post, we haven't got any heart beat or fight in the team. They don't give a toss.

Unless he can improve things significantly I cant see Danny being here next season - also don't forget he has never managed to get a side promoted from the alehouse league - quite a few near misses but always failed in the end.

We arent down yet though - today is a bad result and doesnt help at all but if we could hit a bit of form and string a little run together we could still escape. If I was a betting man I wouldn't be putting much money on that happening though

To be fair lads, we showed much more fight than we are doing now when Mellon was in charge. What was it, 4 points in a week? the best we have manged this season?
Whoever we appoint, we will struggle in league 1.

I think he has to support Kennedy et al, if he didn't he's no chance of getting a performance out of them. That said, I'd have been playing RNL when fit anyway.

Mellon should have gone when it was clear he wasn't getting the job, though I assume he was kept on to allow for some continuity and knowledge of the squad. If he gets the job I can see ticket sales dropping even more dramatically.

The thought (reality?) of relegation scares me, I honestly don't see us bouncing back anytime soon and I actually think we'll struggle at that level too - our budget won't be big for League 1 either and we still aren't going to be an attractive club to play for.

What scares me is the lack of a 'plan' at Oakwell. Heard Mark Robins on Look North saying how there was a five year plan at Huddersfield. We have managers on 12 month rolling contracts or if rumours are correct in Danny's case until the end of the season. No sense of continuity or building something for the future at Oakwell. When Andy Ritchie queried the approach of the Board when he took us up from League 1 he was shown the door. Since then every manager has spoken of survival in the Championship being the only aim each season.
