The EyUp & Down lads and lasses have some big news! We’re amazed at how generous some Barnsley fans can be. We’ve been donated a match worn shirt that is just a little bit special - it was worn by our own Mick McCarthy! Yes, this is the same shirt he wore in the away cup match at Anfield - yes, that one! You can win this shirt for just a FIVER - £5 per ticket or 5 tickets for £20. You can enter by sending your money either via PayPal (garytedford80@gmail.com) or by bank transferring him your cash - if doing the latter please make sure your name is included as the reference. The money received for all entities will be given to charity - we are open to suggestions so if you have a worthy cause please let us know. The draw will be made live on our Facebook page on 01/09/18 at 10pm.

Speaking to my accountant in the morning. Needless to say I was at the game.... then again we took about 17k to that match by all accounts. Our coach, which was from a pub on Summer Lane only got to the ground 10 minutes before half time. My feet rarely touched the ground in the packed stand. (I was only 17 at the time). One of my greatest moments supporting Barnsley. The dominance of the team we were playing was unreal at the time. Back to back European Cup winners. Man City are nowhere near that at the moment.
The back story to this is we were approached by the son of Norman who worked in old n new club shops. Did it for 30 years or so. He's recently passed away. He was the print manager at Sugdens printers and was the one who printed the sponsors logos. Reprinted letters that dropped off etc. So after each game he was given the shirts back to repair. He's 'a few' of the shirts from that night and for whatever reason they never made it back to Oakwell. That's the provinence. No certificate unfortunately, just an honest and genuine back story.
