    ...and looks quite good.

Not sure what happened to 9? Maybe trying to align with Apple who have been stuck on 10 for years now.

Yep. Definitely got the advance on OS X. I think they scrapped 9, as they couldn't get the Start button to work. Game changing.

They dropped massive boll*ck with the tiles thing in Windows 8, totally lost sight of the fact that Windows machines are used mainly for productivity which this new layout just didn't work well with.

New start menu looks like a mix of Windows Phone and the good old menu.

Hopefully they are continuing their record of alternating decent and bad Operating systems all the way back to 3.1 = good 95 bad 98 good (fixed most 95 bugs ) 2000 (hmm) XP good Vista (ahem ) 7 good 8 ....

Im going to need a new work PC in the next year or so and no one in my company has touched 8 so hope that 10 is decent again

We'll be running 7 at work until they force us to upgrade, it's become the new XP and will be hard to kill. I use 8.1 at home and honestly can't knock it, it boots straight to a desktop, I have a start menu and never had a problem with it apart from the odd programme which insists on opening on 'Metro' mode
