Is it worth upgrading Vista to Windows 7?

    7 is better

But it depends on your circumstances and system
7 is less resource-heavy and should give you a slight speed boost. It offers a lot of new features but many may be of limited use to most users. Also, older hardware from before this release may not have compatible drivers available.

Then there's the cost - if you are a student or work in education and have a .ac.uk email address there's an upgrade programme allowing you to go from Vista for £30 - I'd be tempted if I either was eligible or used Vista! Otherwise you can make a pre-release order (is that OK eastie?) for about £70 or wait and pay £90ish after release.

If you have to pay full whack and don't need anything Vista doesn't do I don't see the point.

I have got my Windows 7 on order and the money has just been taken. I ordered with the best intentions of installing it myself, but I think i'm now gonna sell it on because XP is still running well for me - plus I can't be arsed with all the hassle of backing up my existing data then re-installing it on the new OS.

If I can make some profit on it from eBay then even better.

RE: Hmmm. This part of the site has changed since I last looked

Thanks. I have a valid academic email address, should get a bit of my OU fees back at last.
