Windows 8.1 upgrade trial

    Much better than Windows 8, back comes the start button and generally better all round. For them that's interested like.

    Yeah I've been running it, it's not really the start menu though is it, there needs to be a business version which ditches that all that metro/touch stuff. I've had to resort to pinning all my most used programmes to the task bar which takes a bit of getting used to

    I downloaded a start button, so it's basically the same as Windows 7.

    My missus ordered a new laptop with Windows 8. It lasted about 12 hours, then it was packed up and sent back for a refund. Laptop itself (Acer) was fine, just couldn't fathom Windows 8.

    Never seen a better example of "if it isn't broken, don't try to fix it". If we re-equipped at work with Windows 8 machines it would be about a month before anyone could do any work, so we've banned it. Learning curve is too steep.
