Windows XP help please

Can anyone help ? desk top running very slow ie browsing,startup etc ,task manager shows 100% cpu usage when running any two programs unable to do more than one process at a time, avg and spybot not detecting any problems c.cleaner lists the same 112 issues everytime its run showing mainly activeX references ,should I reinstall windows xp to clear the problem if so whats the best procedure any help much appreciated. (p.s. unable to respond till late afternoon)</p>

 

due to various " browsing of inappropriate" sites , my pc runs like a dog ! , mind if i open up taks manager , and close something called "dllhost.exe" in processes.. everything works fine ... worth a shot..

 

Thanks for the advice but I don`t appear to have "dllhost.exe" running in the processes column

 

get shut of c cleaner for a start

 

nowt wrong with c cleaner I use it weekly nt

 

no such thing as a free lunch

anybody who downloads 'free' software deserves all they get

Run Hijack this, http://hijack-this.org/
also empty all temp files, internet explorer temp files.
Two virus programs often interfere with each othercausing a pc slowdown.

And if that doesn't work try Start/Help/System Restore http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx

 

thats all well and good, free d/l but then you have to register and pay to use it, not very good :'(
