My boxer dog bitch has just had 6 puppies. They are 2 weeks early and I havent' got clue what I should be doing. Vet says unless mother is obviously distresssed just leave her to it so no need for an emergency visit. Both mother and puppies are fine to look at. I think I'm worrying too much as I'm a big believer that nature sorts itself out. All puppies are big and look healthy so maybe I'm just worrying. Any advice greatfully recieved
Probably best asking Cazi Are the puppies alert and able to feed from their mum? If not you might have to feed them yourself with a syringe their sucking reflex may not be fully developed.
Another pup just arrived All puppies feeding from mum and look healthy. everything looks fine. I just have never done this before and its two weeks early so I'm just out of sorts.
RE: Pup number eight just entered the world. If all puppies are being nurtured by mum then there is nothing to worry about. Try to stay calm and relaxed if possible as most dogs tend to manage everything on their own. I know, easier said than done.
All seems very well now. http://img279.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc000854tn.jpg Lets see if this works. Puppies not too clear as they look very much like mum
