If you lot have got so much to say about how the club should be run then why dont you arrange a meeting together with Gordon Shepherd.

Write to him using your proper name and you will get a response and I know that other fans have requested meetings and he has been happy to see them and discuss the plans etc.

Have any of you got the bottle to do this or would you prefer to hide behind made up names?

So this board is'nt for our opinions and thoughts of OUR club?....

looks like I've been guilty of disagreeing with some points, sorry it won't happen again.

I agree but if you want people want to slate others in this case GS without knowing the full facts than they are expressing opinions which hold less validity.
Some of the comments have not been gripes but personal attacks. GS and PC rescued the club again on Christmas Eve 2004 - LESS THAN 2 years ago and they appointed the manager and supported the manager that got us promoted at the first time of asking.

That was a better record than P Riddy!

They kept season ticket prices down despite going up as most of these lot would winge if prices went up £5.00. If the ST prices had gone up by £25.00 and 7000 people approx purchased one then the increase in revenue would have been £175,000.
That may have been an extra couple of players who knows. However, it appeared that they were trying to keep the fans happy. A lot of the people that come on here slating the club have not got a clue what may be going on behind the scenes but they have to have a scapegoat when they should really be looking in th mirror and asking are they doing enough to help the club?

    Whats going on now

is that we look like relegation fodder.

And all for the want of 2 or 3 players most people accepted we needed in August.

    Agreed

and GS says money is available. However, if that money can only buy the same or worse than we have it throwing good money away. Experience players want experienced player wages. Whilst I'm sure the fee etc int a problem destroying the wage structure at the club could undermine the team.

I have no strong opinions about this, I trust AR to do whats best. So does GS!!!

Not only accepted we needed them in August but....

we were told that we were looking at box office signings.... and we have been told since about all the players we are showing an interest in....

We never even get a sniff at any of them. Looks to me that we can't sign anyone better than we have because we don't pay enough, Richie knows there is no point getting players in if they are no better than we have. So all I read into that is the money is there if required but its not enough to bring in anyone better than we have currently.

At the end of the day we are playing some great football, we have a paper thin squad and lack experience but the lads are putting in the effort and giving it a go. We still need experience at the back and a reliable goal scorer.

Big danger will be losing some of the players we have....Togwell, Howard to name but 2....

My name's Don McCarron mate, I don't hide and I wouldn't have to dig very deep into the bottle reserves to go to Oakwell and listen to some more of the kind of waffle we've been fed all season. I have more entertaining ways to waste my time.

As for personal responses, I tried very hard last year to get BFC set up with a place in the Copa De Ibiza. I liased with PlayHard Sports (who organise the event,) our mutual friend in Ibiza and Sean Doyle security (who were eager to supply our banning order figures etc) but never got past Gordon Shepherd's secretary. In the end it didn't come off and I heard nothing at all in the way of "Oh well never mind" or "Thanks for the effort" from Gordon Shepherd, his secretary, or his gardener's dog so you'll forgive me for being sceptical regarding the possibility of a personal response to any kind of criticism.

Sorry mate, and I can't speak for the other objects of your tirade, but having grown tired of all this season's contradictory spiel about new signings I'm no longer interested in what anyone down there has to say unless it accompanies a photo of a couple of decent new players in Barnsley shirts.

    "money is available"

That's the whole crux of it. How much? If we're to assume this is an attempt to placate us then surely the suggestion is that enough money is available for better players. If that's not the case then why go on about it?

If GS thinks one ambiguous phrase is going to shift the blame to Andy Ritchie on the day we're relegated he's sorely underestimating the nouse of his customers.

Whether I agree or disagree with what is said, I believe this board is for having your say.

Sounds like you'd prefer to be on a BFC board run by the 'TWIN' site admin where we all just sit around and talk about what we love and admire about the club.

£175,000 for two players including wages?

    Now you've really lost me.

I'm starting to come around to that way of thinking myself.

He has to go on the record and clear this one up - because all he has achieved up until now is to put more pressure on the manager.

Mr Shepherd, when you say there is money available - if there money available for proven talent with competitive wages?

As far as I'm concerned, if there isn't that kind of money, there isn't money at all.

You find out the bloke who works next to you

is on 4 times your pay... does that motivate you of piss you off?

Me I'd be pissed off and looking for a move or banging on the door for a pay rise.

Team spirit got us up last season and 3 new players wont replace that as our No1 asset
