A mate had a problem with this recently, and its just tried to attack my pc too. Just come up on screen as a pop-up that says it contains no spyware, adware and other ****. It pretends to be a Windows program that is free to install. But obviously by looking into this recently to help my mate, I wasnt going to fall for it - hopefully. It said click ok to install. OK was an option, so was Cancel. So I clicked Cancel. It still tried to install anyway. So I decided to reboot my PC. Looks like I have got away with it.
I advise other people to do the same if Winfixer decides to try to install itself on your PC's.

I've had it for about 6 weeks and can't get rid.. apperantly its the worst spyware on the web at the moment. All websites say it is highly important to get rid of it. I still can't and have given up trying.
My adaware se and I have also got spybot and Kaspersky all have failed to get shut of it. There is a website that will help you get it off your PC. I will find it out for you.
Pressing cancel or anything else won't help and I promise you that it is on your PC for good.
Give me a few mins and I'll get the site for you. Its run by a team of IT professionals and they ask for PC logs and then give you advice on how to delete the little fooker.

It doesn't load itself onto your toolbars...... but when you surf the net it will flash up with the Winfixer 2005 found on your PC. When you press cancel or X in the top corner it will bring up the big window with the bar saying how much Spyware on your PC.
Give it week or two after it has taken the relevant info from your PC and you will have pop ups every site you attempt to go on.
At the moment i am using myfirewall to stop it from being a total pain but its still there in the background.
From what I was told it is imperritive that it is off your PC asap. I'll find you site but it might take 10 mins
