<p class="ss-text-bold">Winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce is refusing to panic amid Barnsley's abysmal start to the Championship season. </p> The Tykes have picked up just one point from their opening five league games this season and saw manager Simon Davey leave by mutual consent at the weekend as the club look to stop the rot.</p> Saturday's 3-1 loss at home to Reading was their fourth defeat from five games which leaves Barnsley rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, but Campbell-Ryce insists it is too early to panic.</p> "We only managed to pick up one point from the first five league games, so obviously we are disappointed with the way we have started," he told skysports.com. </p> "But the season has only just begun and it is important that we pick ourselves up and pick up some points as quick as possible.</p> "Nobody wants to be bottom of the league even though we are at such an early stage of the season, but hopefully we can use that as determination to start putting some points on the board and lifting ourselves off the foot of the table."</p><h4>Break</h4> The international break gives the club just under two weeks before their next match as they seek a permanent boss to succeed Davey and the Jamaica international insists their first win must come sooner rather than later. </p> "It is very important that we register a win in the league soon because defeats can spiral and cause the side's confidence to drain.</p> "A win can't come soon enough for us really and it doesn't matter whether it's a scrappy 1-0, as long as it secures three points on the board it will give us a boost.</p> "I think that collectively, as a team, we just haven't done enough at either end of the field to win the games which we have played so far.</p> "I don't think there is a particular thing you can put your finger on why we haven't put some more points on the board, but we just haven't scored enough at one end and defended well enough at the other."</p>
Well thats promising.. at least he's back to being classed as a winger. Rather than a roaming sweeper.
