    a quick question

would you be in favour of giving everyone £300 of your own money irrespective if they already had more than you?

it won’t. Tax, energy costs and business rates will be the death of public houses. It’s nearly done for them already.

No doubt it has been the final nail in people's coffins so has alchol. Never been in the smoking gang myself it doesn't bother me if anyone else wants to do it though.
Obesity costs the nhs more than twice that of smoking every year what are labour party doing about that? More fast food chains, coffee shops popping up everywhere and cans of energy drinks getting sold with nearly a oz of sugar per can. Cut down on that that will save more lives.

They didn't leave them with all the issues we have now after 14 years of austerity and record high taxes?

    That's the situation now...

    .

With respect did you read my labour v tory agendas. Would you care to reply to those.

You only pay tax cos you reach the threshold like every other person in the country. Ask yourself why the tories didn't raise the threshold. (Labour are sticking with the triple lock but not increasing the threshold. Something I dont agree with.Tbh. It means basically if we get a 2.5% rise, around £280 pa. £56 will go back in tax, for those with full ni contributions Given in one hand a rise then taken back in another.)

I suppose you didn't mind getting tax perks on your pension payments during employment of 20% tax relief. For every £100 you invested it only cost you £80. Better than any savings plan you'd ever do. And the 25 % tax free amount. It may not have been a lot only you know.

And genuine question where have you seen Starmer putting NI contributions on to pensioners. Not to say you're wrong just can't find or seen owt.

What I have seen and labour have thrown the idea into the grass. Is financial institutions were suggesting working state pension qualifiers. 1.2 million apparantly. Ought to pay NI. Something I dont have qualms about tbf. People are living longer and it has to be clawed back somehow. It's another reason qualifying ages are rising.
Pensions throughout the modern world are unsustainable if everything stands still.
Those that leave it late by saying they dont need to pay into a pension pot just yet but can afford it. better wake up. Keep buying what you can't afford without substantial loans. And wake up in poverty late in life. Else work till you drop.
We obviously are miles apart in our thinking I'll leave it at that.
Continue to vote Tory if you think you and the working class get a better deal.

If we all took our soppy old hearts out of the equation and started to think with our heads then every single one of us would agree with scrapping it. It's nothing short of age discrimination to give a millionaire a few hundred quid purely for being a certain age. and it's utterly ludicrous the way it's been allowed to be abused for so long and how it's been set up in the first place. It isn't used to benefit the needy, it's used to reward people for being a certain age.

State sponsored age discrimination is wrong. Put an end to it and divert attention to giving more to those who need it. Increase the pension credit amount, make it a sliding scale so that everyone gets above the minimum required to actually live properly on and get rid of the handouts to the rich just because they're born before a certain year.

Yeah, **** the younger lot and wider society, all that matters is who's going to give you a few more quid...

And you think Labour are responsible for the global financial crash?

8% i believe the figure was mentioned. But it is only the last 2 aprils when the triple lock has made the pension worth anything and the cost of living payments were a god send. Hopefully you will reach pension age and believe you me you will want every penny you can get. Yes there are some who will have plenty but there is a lot more that doesn't, and to be honest i never thought i would here a Barnsley man begrudge another working man or someone who had worked all his life upto retirement anything. But we live in a different age now, people on more than adequate salaries get more to the pile, kick the poorer ones further down

Said I'd done but this needs a reply.
The 8% you quote is heresay as far as i can tell. Read my previous post.
The triple lock only came about because pensions were falling behind. In previous years. Tory vote catchers b4 an election.
I've been of pension age for 2 years.

Aren't people actually wanting to take from the right to give to the poor here? You're the one opposed to that

you don’t. You already stated you vote reform… as we’ve left the EU we are all significantly worse off. But you won’t be bothered… blue birds over the white cliffs of Dover and all that.

No i didn't say i voted reform , i said i may think about it if this clown would step down and only under the present climate because there is nothing else because yes i admit Conservatives have not done well over last few years but i still think they're better than these. But i know all the labour voters who are already getting fed up of starmer will not vote tory and i am damn sure the lib dems wouldn't improve anything, so just agree to differ. But i have never voted reform yet
