could someone kindly explain what I need to do/buy in order to link my daughter's laptop to my Cable Broadband.
I am not on wireless connection on my main PC.
Do I simply buy one of those Routers??

Wireless router and a wireless card for each PC to be connected wirelessly. Make sure you buy a cable broadband router and not an ADSL one.

    No you don't have to

You can connect your PC with a cable if you wish.

Probably the best bet if you have a desktop and modem close to it.

You connect the ethernet cable from modem into router and you can connect another ethernet from router into your pc, and wireless card for laptop.

Chances are you won't need a wireless card.

Unless it's from the 1970's, the lappy should have wireless built in.

Depending which package you have from VirginMedia, you may be able to get a wireless router FREE.

    http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/service.do?id=2

I know this is for new customers, but if as you say you've been with them for a while, you can give them a call mentioning that Sky are offering free wireless routers with their packages and your thinking about switching.

    Worth a try for nowt.
