In general, what is the maximum distance from your phone socket that you can connect "wirelessly" ?

    On a 802.11g connection I get about 40 yards.

although some routers claim 350 yards.

Well firstly you need to conneced by wire a router to provide the signal. so I assume you meant from the router - not the phone socket. (by the way you can usually connect a good quality extension lead and put the router in another room - though all the ISP's say dont do this)

Then it depends on the router and how many walls you need to go through.

You should get 30 - 40 meters indoors and 60 - 80 meters outdoors though. If thats not enough you can also get repeaters to boost the signal
