wireless router

    How do I switch on my wireless card in my laptop so that it will see my non secure wireless router ????

    on mine , you hold the fn button along with F1 button , this turns wireless card on/off

    There are a few possibilities

    First up, go into control panel > network connections.
    If there is a red X next to the wireless connection, right click on it and enable it.

    Otherwise there may be a switch on the laptop somewhere to actually enable the hardware.  What make and model is it?

    PS, as soon as you get connected, secure your network.  Especially if you have capped bandwidth as it is open to being stolen.
