I've got Virgin Broadband at home through cable, i've got a Desktop PC so i've not needed Wireless. I've got a PSP and i'm wanting to use it online, what do i need to buy and what's my cheapest option? Not wanting to spend much cos it's only for the odd online game.

    Cheers and all that.

That's the first thing that came up. I'm sure you can find cheaper. I've no idea why your current wireless router wouldn't work, maybe you only need an adapter. There are definitely more technical posters then me. Post up the details of the existing router thingy supplied with cable and whatever the wireless one is and I'm sure someone will pitch up with a solution tomorrow.

Something like a DLink or Netgear home wireless kit (MUST be cable modem version). I think the DLink is about £45, with the Netgear closer to the ton mark. I think they both come with a wireless USB dongle, not that you'll ever need it.

I've tried both. The clue is in the price - you get what you pay for. Though I'm sure the DLINK would suffice for what you suggest.

Sorry, I presumed you still had the one that was given to you by your mate. You need a wireless router to connect via your PSP, I know that much.

Can i get something for less than 20 quid

It only need to bridge a gap of about 1 metre, i'd plug the PSP in but it needs to be wireless.

The one that IOWT specced above is fine.

Put the part number into Kelkoo.co.uk and see what you can get it for. If you'd have posted last week I would have given you my sisters old one for a tenner.

Ebay might be a good idea cos the USB adaptors are notoriously crap so people blame the unit itself and tend to get rid.

That's right. I'm a technical genius me, I was looking for door bells though.

I'm on Virgin and my wireless router...

is a Linksys WRT54GS. Works perfect for cable. I was a complete novice, but I feel it's safe, secure, and fully does the job. My PC is wired through it, but between me and the girlfriend we have PS3, Nintendo DS and a PSP. All those three connect perfectly via wifi. Think I paid about £40 for it early last year. Still be roughly the same price, so ebay maight be your best bet mate.

Can I just ask though what games you are planning on playing wifi on the PSP, as i've never tried with mine tbh.

Plexus? I think that's for strumming a guitar.
