would help us non season ticket holders out by doing some kind of 3 for 2 package or buy one get one free, anything to help at this time of year

They should be no more than £20 per game, and this is from a season ticket holder.

More folk would turn up if we ditched the tippy tappy sideways Carp and adopted a more positive approach!

£20 per match for the rest of the season would make sense to me. Affordable and an incentive to many as we start our surge to the top

They should do 'football for a fiver' for the Wigan game on the 19th of December. The final Saturday before Christmas is traditionally one of the lower attended games of the season, so it would be nice to reverse that. And if we play well, some of those who go to the Wigan game will return for the other festive fixtures.

Those who claim our attendances don't increase significantly when we do a deal like this are misinformed as the last couple of times we did football for a fiver we sold out the home end.

PS I'm a season ticket holder so this doesn't affect me. I'd be happy for the club to do a number of promotions for non-season ticket holders throughout the year.

I agree, and it should be a fiver on the gate.

But it'll be full price on the gate with club employees shouting cries of derision at you for being so disorganised and backward thinking.

I'd love that. If only to dispel the myth that it makes a difference. For another season anyway...

I don't think anyone doubts that selling tickets at a fiver sells more. That's not sustainable though so we see the benefit for the one game then it's back to normal, it has no effect on attendance for subsequent games at normal price.

And it's only a fiver that sells. Would a tenner or 15 quid? Doubt it very much.

yes but at moment we are getting about a thousand 25 quids ,in above season ticket holders , so that's 25 k extra and approx. 500 pies at 3 quid, if we get 5 thousand 5ers that's same, but more pies at 3 quid, plus the team gets a better atmosphere and are more likely to win

Sorry red, but increased pie profits would go to the catering company, taking that they are on a franchise.

Yep. Like I said we benefit for the 1 match.

Catering is still outsourced too so don't think extra sales (if they up the stock anyway) for 1 game will have any effect on revenue to bfc.

They've never tried it. Last two home league games that were football for a fiver were the last home games of the season. We sold out, but there was no following match, so I don't know how people can keep telling me it wasn't sustained as there was no further match to judge it on. The Wigan match is an ideal opportunity to try it, as we have two more home games soon after. I'm willing to bet that if we beat Wigan and play well, some of those that came to that game for a fiver would be go to the other games over Christmas.

I hope they give it a go, I really do, anything to improve the atmosphere in oakwell.

You may be right that some (not many though) would come back for the next couple of games with it being Xmas (perfect opportunity to try it really). I won't hold my breath on it having a longer term effect though.

It won't, if we're crap. But if we play well and win those three games I'm certain some people will be tempted back on a more regular basis. Even if they're not, what we got to lose? Club takes more money on that Wigan fixture (we get so few paying on the gate on a normal Setdi that we're bound to) and it's a good will gesture over the expensive Christmas period.
