With all this modern coaching I was thinking how much 'terrace wisdom'

would help our lot, basic things said over the years, like ......

    gerra foot in

    find a man

    shoot!

you don't shoot you don't score

    mark up

    gerrit int box

stuff like that, I'd add gerrim int wall bottom but (a) its not allowed now and (b) I don't think this lot could manage it!

A bloke sat in lower east second block from away fans started shouting Gerra foot in within 2 minutes of the game starting

He then continued throughout along with shouts of pick em up and get stuck in until he gave up when the second goal went in and he left
I wouldn’t mind but it was obvious from early doors that no Barnsley player was ever getting near enough to a Swansea player to follow his instructions and the only people that could hear him was the few fans sat nearby

When I hear some of the shouts coming from fans it always reminds me of an episode of jossies giants

One bit of wisdom concerning passing "Give him a chance".

Seems to be a lot of wayward, aimless passing in our games.

One of my favourites was around the Premier League season it may have actually been the first year after relegation under Hendrie.
I very large fella used to sit behind me probably about 20 stone. One game the target of his dissatisfaction was Andy Liddell and this is what he shouted
"Liddell! You are to football what I am to catwalk modelling" at around the age of 16 I have to say it did make me chuckle.

How many people basically talk to (or really shout) at themselves during a match ?

I suppose it's a bit like posting a message on here for a random person that won't read it.

"Dear Jordan, pass the ball before you loise it"

There are some just absolute basics that we're getting wrong, which means the terrace wisdom becomes more valid. Like Brittain standing 5 yards away from their winger, and letting him cross for the first goal. Or the fact Palmer stopped playing to allow it to get to that position.

There was a lot of jogging towards players yesterday, and very little attempts to win the ball. Maybe that made no difference given how quickly we gave it away anyway. But it was always going to be a matter of time before we lost our discipline and/or shape, and our only hope would be a massive miss or a brilliant save. So a 'foot in' might've been handy every once in a while.
