we'd have left Hartlepool with 3 points. no doubt in my mind, if we dont bring in a midfield replacement before window closes, we will miss out on the playoffs. dont give a f.ck what it sounds like on the commentary or what people have seen in the occasional game, our standard has dropped significantly since Hassell went off early in Bournemouth game and since Burns has left. we've lost momentum, we look less convincing at the back, nervous on set pieces and we havent won in 4 cos we havent kept a clean sheet. lets hope Hassell is back on Saturday. and that Ritchie demands that the Chairman gets off his arse and makes summat happen.
It does appear we are lacking something in the midfield dept. Especially at the beginning of games for some reason.
Kay scored on Sat which shouldnt be forgotten, but Burns did more than just break up their attacks, his set piece delivery and generall distribution made us a more more potent attacking force. McPhail was MOTM again, but he would benefit from having someone alongside him that gives him great license to get forward. added to which, Devaney and Shuker have been woeful the last 4 games. not looking good. our best front 2 includes Hayes, and the longer he's warming the bench, the less likely we are to put together a run of victories.
RE: Kay scored on Sat Can't agree with your comment that we are missing Burns that much. His corners and free kicks on the whole were poor.
RE: Kay scored on Sat agree most of the corners didn't clear the first defender, but we need a couple of signings to give us a boost
And Shuker is better? we've scored more goals this season from set pieces than any season I can remember, and Burns took a fair chunk of them. player of the season by miles, and you think we're not missing him? f.ck me blind.
What you on about? We've still got the best passer in the club.
Joking apart, Evelyn Glennie could have seen that selling the best player and not replacing him would have a detrimental effect, i don't see how anyone can argue against that.

We are missing Burns more than aI thought we would, but then again I thought we would have a replacement lined up, seeing as we had a months notice of him leaving... But anyway, Ritchie's not panicking, he's going to talk to his coaches and see IF we need some fresh blood. So there.
Players don't grow on trees!!! With the transfer window it's not that easy to sign a decent player in March. The only players who are available are either on loan or out of contract. A loan signing is unlikely to have played much football this season or his club would want to keep him for the run in, and if a player is out of contract then he's probably not all that good (e.g. Dean Gordon). We do miss Burns but we had no choice but to let him go really - there's no point keeping players who don't want to be here. If we can't bring in any decent players there is no point signing any old crap just for the sake of it.
Evelyn Glennie is hearing -not visually-impaired I prefer my Grandma's
"a blind man on a galloping horse would have been glad to see it " !

RE: What you on about? Kell was sat on the bench on Sat not as a sub just being involved I think. We could have had another player for what he's cost us. What a waste of money.
be funny if burns won player of season! ff cant believe we aint fetching anyone in. bad bad move. I reckon they saw the burns move as a chance to get one of the high earners off the books. Nowt to do with world cup hopes. Now theres just mcfrail left of the high earners i reckon. Unless colgan is on a decent wad - and hes ooc in the summer. Is mcphail too?
