And at least John Dennis had the balls to get ris of Spackman pretty sharpish, he didn't inflict him upon us for 3 years!
would'nt have parkin back either............ but surely with all the manager's out of work, there's bound to be some interest in the job, if and when it becomes available
What about PHart? I'd rather choose the side by committee than have that monotonous bag of fvcking ***** in charge.
the thing is.... ...we still got relegated at the end of that season anyway, so replacing Spackman wasn't necessarily the right thing to do. Not that I'm advocating that we keep Davey.
Davey has kept us up........................ You are deluding yourself if you rank him at the side of that lot.
Davey hasn't kept us up To say davey has kept us up suggests that it was a great achievement to do so when it wasn't. I, along with many others, will argue that davey almost sent us down. The team he had last season would have done better without a manager than with davey in charge in my opinion.
I would say the reality was somewhere in between. He did well to keep us up in his first season as manager. His second season was very poor, save for an incredible cup run. Third season perhaps the most disappointing given his murmerings about "his team" etc etc. We performed well below expectations and should not have been involved in a relegation scrap when you compare his team to say, Doncaster's for example. His Fourth season appears to be following the trend - we are going backwards. He needs to be dismissed now imho. I give him until the Reading Home game at the latest.
