The Palestinian authorities had been warned over a period of THREE MONTHS that their security measures at the Jericho jail were insufficient and they were warned in advance that the monitors would be removed.

    Sorry.

    RE: Acky?

LOL - why ask me? I dont call you out to answer your ridiculous claims you made before invading Iraq.....still we'll gloss over that eh?

If that's true then it's sad that no measures were taken sooner, although quite what these 'dangers' were haven't been mentioned. I'd point out that reports said that there were only 2 monitors in the jail, one each from the US and UK. It's also sad that the Israeli's decided to use force to illegally enter land that is not their's whilst demolishing a prison and killing two people in the process. If Israel/US/UK wants the PA to be responsible then it has to start treating them as such, and not simply fanning the flames of more reprisals and more killings, especially so soon after the Palestinian people democratically elected their government. How can the PA manage to instill any belief in the democratic alternative if Israel's actions are anything BUT democratic and law abiding? This whole episode smacks far more of power politics more than it does of the actual need to take military action in such a manner.
