    Edit: Just read the OP properly - released in England. I''l go for 1985. I was going on the basis of the advert - Grandad giving his Grandchild a sweet, after his Grandad had given him them as a child. Or is that another advert I'm mixing Werthers up with??

    From advert think I should remember them as a young'un but don't so I'd say mid eighties

    Id no idea but I didnt remember them from when I was a kid either in fact I dont remember them until the adverts with the Grandad came out - the fact that this got posted makes me think they havent been around in the UK for very long so I'd go for sometime around 1990
